PROGRAM INFORMATION: The Engineering and Computing Summer Academy offers participants hands-on activities & learning experiences in all areas of engineering and computer science. Students meet with engineering & computer science students as well as STEM faculty and industry professionals.
Students can choose from three different options:
Non-residential/commuter (prev. UNITE; Tuition, lunches, and instructional materials are fully covered. Upon successful completion of the program, students will earn a small stipend for their participation):June 3rd - June 28thResidential Summer Transportation Institute (Room & board, tuition, and instructional materials are fully covered):July 7th - 26th
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Students must have computer access at home or the ability to stay on site during announced available hours to complete assigned homework.Non-residential program (June): Incoming (Fall 2024) high school freshman, sophomores, and juniors may apply (priority will be incoming sophomores and juniors but incoming freshman are still welcome to apply).Residential program (July): incoming Juniors through Seniors with priority given to students who are 16+ years old by the start of the program.
HOW TO APPLY:
Complete the online application and essay requirement (submit via the application form: a 400 to 500-word Personal Statement about why you want to attend the Engineering and Computing Summer Academy)Submit (1) letter of recommendation from one of your Math or Science Teachers. Teacher must submit their recommendation directly via email to ess@unm.edu, Subject Line: ESA Recommendation.Submit the most current unofficial school transcript to ess@unm.edu, Subject Line: ESA Transcript.Note: Incomplete application packets will not be accepted
